President and CEO
Tim is the founder and CEO of Intelligent Logistics. In his first job out of college he was hired by a sports manufacturing company and exposed for the first time to the glamour and glitz of logistics. After several management and director positions with both carriers and shippers, he decided to bootstrap a start up applying what he had learned from both perspectives. Intelligent Logistics was born on February 28, 2002 with the goal of taking the often complex world of cargo transportation and making it simple for clients so they could be more successful.
Tim earned a B.A. from Texas A&M University (where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets), as well as a M.S. in International Logistics from Georgia Tech. Tim is also a 2011 graduate of the EO/MIT Entrepreneurial Masters Program and holds the industry accreditation of Certified Transportation Broker (CTB).
Outside of Intelligent Logistics, Tim is also the President of Watterson Ranch Inc., a family-owned ranch that raises natural, certified grass-fed beef, as they have on the same Texas land for six generations. Tim is a musician and songwriter, a goofball and a drifter. He loves to travel (28 countries and counting) and is happiest when he is hanging out with his wife and two sons or writing songs with his musician buddies.
Ed Valle, CPA
Ed is an accomplished business strategist and entrepreneur. After receiving a B.S. in Accounting at the University of Alabama, Ed cut his teeth in corporate accounting with Shell Oil and later, KPMG/Peat Marwick. He founded his first company in Houston in 1984 and successfully built it to over $25 million in revenue. Ed then relocated a spin off of that company, Team Logistics, to Austin and continued to grow it until its 1997 sale to a Fortune 100 company. He has been working with Intelligent Logistics in various roles since 2003.
Ed holds a CPA license in Texas. Outside of work Ed likes to spend time with his wife and family, and be on the beach in Florida.
Brandon Arnold, CTB
Vice President, FTL Operations
Brandon is a born operations guru, with a varied background in all facets of the transportation industry including full truckload brokerage, special projects, domestic and international forwarding, and warehouse logistics. In his role as Vice President of FTL Operations, Brandon enjoys working closely with clients and helping them to be more successful.
Prior to Intelligent Logistics, Brandon held numerous operations roles with other transportation companies at the management and director level. In 2002, he took a leap of faith, moving back to Texas to become the first employee of Intelligent Logistics. Brandon serves of the board at Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) as the Airfreight Chairman (1st term) and serves as the Assistant Director to Region 5 on the Transportation and Logistics Council (1st term). He is a Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) and has membership in the Council for Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and Association of Operations Management (APICS).
Brandon is a volunteer with Communities in School (CIS) where he mentors at-risk high school students. He is married to a former Texas Longhorn cheerleader and has three children. A big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, Brandon also loves monkeys.
Leah Fenech, CSCP
Vice President, Sales
Leah has more than 35 years of sales and operations management experience with Federal Express, DHL, TNT Worldwide, First Air Express, and AIT Worldwide Logistics. As the VP of Sales, she leads the Intelligent Logistics sales team and personally manages key client relationships. She was been with the company since 2004.
Leah is currently the President of the Association of Operations Management (APICS) – Austin, and holds the APICS certification as a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP). She previously served as president of the Transportation Professionals of Central Texas and on the board for the Council for Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). Leah is Intelligent Logistics’ resident foodie, a wonderful cook and the go-to gal for a restaurant or wine recommendations. She and her husband enjoy woodworking, building cabinets, and constantly taking on projects.
Director of Operations-Freight Forwarding
In her role as freight forwarding operations manager, Christy leads the domestic and INTL forwarding team, from quotes through operations through invoicing. Her favorite part of the job is assisting customers in critical situations that require special handling, time-sensitive scheduling or creative routing in a way that makes them smile. She joined our team in 2012.
Christy has a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and a M.B.A. from Tarleton State University. When she’s not working she is outdoors, either biking, running or taking the kids somewhere fun.
Operations Manager, San Antonio
Chris has 20 years of experience in transportation operations management; he has worked for two Fortune 500 companies. Chris was instrumental in leading his former employer to the OpCo of the year and won numerous national safety awards. As the Operation Manager of Intelligent Logistics San Antonio, Chris is going to continue to value his employees as he has done over his career. Chris’s favorite Intelligent Logistics value is HAPPY TEAM and he is committed to doing the right thing when no one is looking. Chris enjoys the relationships he develops with his customers and time spent helping them become market leaders. Chris graduated from Texas Lutheran in 1996 with a Marketing Degree, he attended on a soccer scholarship. In his spare time he loves to watch his son play baseball, fish, golf and vacation with his wife Chrissie.
Janet Richardson, SPHR
Director of Team Happiness
Janet joined Intelligent Logistics in January 2016 to support our #1 Core Value of “Happy Team”. Janet was tasked to promote “all things” happiness for our Happy Team, basically ensuring our employees are as happy as earthly possible. Prior to joining Intelligent Logistics, Janet worked in Human Resources in the real estate, consumer goods and pharmaceutical industries. She has a B.A. in Merchandising from the University of Texas at Austin and a M.B.A. from St. Edwards University. She also holds the HR certifications as SPHR (Senior Professional in HR) and sHRBP (Strategic HR Partner).
Outside of work, Janet is passionate about anything outdoors with her husband, two daughters and two dogs. She is an avid reader, but can also binge watch a Netflix series like no one’s business. She enjoys spinning (indoor cycling, not around) and baking.
Business Development Manager
In her role as a Senior Account Executive, Melissa is focused on developing new business, growing existing business and building mutually beneficial relationships with clients. Her favorite part of the job is talking to people and finding solutions to their challenges.
Melissa has previous transportation experience with YRC. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Texas Tech and a M.B.A. from West Texas A&M University. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her daughter and husband, and being creative with DIY projects.
Continuous Improvement Manager
Kelly joined us in 2010 as a graduate trainee, and has moved around in different roles in sales and operations. Currently she serves as Continuous Improvement Lead (self driven Continuous Improvement is one of our five core values), where she spends time working on improvement projects across all divisions.
Kelly loves learning about our client’s products and supply chain processes. She has a B.A. in Economics & Business from Colorado College, and a M.S. in Business Management from Texas A&M–Commerce. Kelly played NCAA Division 1 soccer while in college. Her favorite activities outside work include photography, playing the lottery and reading.
Chris joined us after spending 15 years with CEVA Logistics in a sales role. Chris never met a stranger, and he takes pride in providing unparalleled customer service to our clients.
Chris has a bachelors degree from TCU, where he was an all Southwest Conference punter. “Booming Becker” still holds the single-season TCU record for punting average (46.1 yards per kick) as well as the school record for career average (43.0, on 265 punts). He was drafted and spent time with Cardinals and the Vikings before starting his business career.
Truck Brokerage Inside Sales Manager
After going on walkabout the last several years I am excited to be back at ILS and to continue to help take care of customer relationships. I got my start in this industry as a Logistics Specialist in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2000-2004. After getting my B.B.A. in Marketing from Sam Houston State in 2008, I entered the civilian logistics workforce with Fed Ex Ground. Since then I have worked for a few other companies focused on transportation management and customer relationship development.
In 2013, I obtained my Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) and I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M. Outside of work I enjoy sports, the outdoors and I love to cook.
Business Development Manager
Misty focuses on developing new business in San Antonio, and continuing to nurture key customer relationships. Her favorite part of the job is the people and learning about other companies and how they’ve become successful. Misty joined our team in Austin where she worked for several years before relocating for us to San Antonio.
Prior to Intelligent Logistics, Misty held roles with FedEx, Eagle Global Logistics/CEVA, Mach 1, and Crane Worldwide. Outside of work her passion is her four Arabian horses that keep her happy, healthy, outside and moving.
Joanna joined our sales team after nearly four years as as Director of Business Development for BTX Global Logistics. Prior to BTX, she was with Quantum Digital for seven years as an Account Manager. She also previously held a number of roles in the financial industry. Every conversation with her somehow turns to cars and racing!
Operations Team Supervisor
Luke provides operations and project management of select accounts requiring high touch, white glove services with a lot of detailed steps. “Client Happiness” is his actual middle name! (OK, not really.) With the company since 2005, Luke was previously the domestic operations manager prior to assuming his current role.
Prior to Intelligent Logistics, Luke worked in cartage and warehouse operations roles for several other companies. He holds a degree in business, which he earned while working full-time at Intelligent Logistics. Outside of work he is passionate about his family, water skiing and knee boarding, and working in his yard.
Jason supports customers using Intelligent Logistics’ truckload services. In this role he is responsible for tracking truck loads and appraising customers of their freight’s progress. He also provides administrative support by preparing reports, tracking metrics and securing carrier for quoted loads.
Pricing Manager, Freight Forwarding
Rich joined us with over ten years of professional experience in client services, administrative support and freight forwarding. He is an English major at heart that applies the same analytical skill used in writing about Francis Bacon, or that minister and his black veil, to solve complex, unique and challenging service and logistics opportunities. Rich was recently promoted to lead of a new support group focused on providing unparalleled support to specific clientele.
Rich also really likes Netflix and anything Star Trek, Star Wars or sci fi-related. His favorite food has been Chicken Tikka Masala for 15 years and he loves messing around on a Hammond B3 or singing backup vocals in the shower to Adele. Not too crazy about long walks on the beach, but we think you get the picture.
Operations Specialist II
Elchanan (El-Ca-non) joined us in 2014 in our domestic operations team. His nickname is “The Cannon”, which we have been encouraging him to begin referring to himself as in the third person. He has a BBA from the University of Kentucky and earned the designation of Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). Elchanan is fluent in French, and his favorite activities outside of work are mountain biking, reading graphic novels and going on road trips. He is also an avid fan of Formula One racing and most other forms of motor sports.
Amy is a barrel of laughs, as you might expect from her background in acting. She graduated from The New York Conservatory For Dramatic Arts, in NYC, where she lived for 3 years before moving back to Texas. She is good at lots of things, but she especially knows how to throw great parties and fun company events! In her free time, she reviews for Broadway World and loves supporting local theatre.
Truck Brokerage Specialist
Jordan graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in economics. He is currently a Transportation Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves. His role is to move around the different operations in our company over the next several years learning the different facets of our business. He is also currently pursuing a masters degree in logistics online while working full time with us.
Quality & Development Engineer
Jocelyn joined our growing INTL team in 2014 after a career in TV production. Most recently she was involved in the show Shipping Wars, with prior experience as a stunt woman for the TV shows Wipe Out and Fear Factor. She was once tear gassed and tazed in the same day for her job, and she has a bachelors from the University of Texas. She loves her English bulldog Berney.
Eric was recruited to join our warehouse and cartage team from his role as an Operations Manager for Frito Lay where he worked for 8 years. Prior to that he worked in operations for Motorola for twelve years. He has a Bachelors degree from St. Edwards University. He loves to play soccer when not at work.
Al joined us with 15 years of cargo transport from CEVA, Airborne Express and UPS. A New England Patriots fan, he has a daughter who is a student at the University of Texas and he loves to fish. Al is a fantasy sports fanatic.
Accounts Payable Specialist
Luz joined the Intelligent Logistics family in July 2015. After obtaining her office administration certification in 2007 from Austin Community College, she jumped right into the field working in the insurance industry. Luz has also gained experience in the accounting field by helping both our Accounting and HR Department. Outside of the office, Luz enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her two dogs, Chocolate and Tiger.
Jason joined us with roughly 10 years of logistics experience including Bison and Old Castle Glass. He served in the U.S. Navy, and for fun likes to work out and cheer for the UT Longhorns.
Operations Team Supervisor
Brian joined our INTL operations team with a wealth of relevant experience. He was with DHL for six years as an Operations Account Manager. Prior to DHL, Brian held several roles over a period of seven years with the ocean transportation company APL, including roles in warehousing, customer service, account supervisor and as senior logistics analyst. He also previously served for 6 years in the U.S. Air Force.
Sr. Fleet Operator
Mike joined us in 2013. He is always smiling, and when he isn’t working he likes playing the guitar and working out. He may deny it, but the rest of us feel he is in love with his Corvette.
Learning Development Lead
Brandon joined the Intelligent Logistics Team in January of 2014, bringing with him a wide variety of skills and talents. Brandon spent 12 years as Head Instructor for Peak Performance Training Center. He holds a Master Instructor’s rank of 4th Degree Black Belt in the traditional Korean Martial Art of Tang Soo Do. Brandon can often be found causing laughter and general mayhem or chatting about cars with his fellow “gear heads”. Brandon is married to his high school sweetheart, has two wonderful children and is also the owner and creative force behind the art studio, Mad Max studios.
Director of Distribution Operations
Prior to joining the Intelligent Logistics team, Dusten was a Regional Distribution Manager for Praxair Distributions Inc., where he lead projects that resulted in saving over a million miles a year. Dusten also has prior sales management experience at Praxair and Hilti. Dusten graduated cum laude with a bachelors degree from Concordia University. He is also a certified Smith System driving instructor. Dusten is a native Texan who grew up in the Austin area. Dusten loves to cook, fish and do just about anything with his wife and kids.
Prior to joining the Intelligent Logistics team, Mike spent thirty-eight years in various roles in the transportation industry. The last six years were as a line haul driver over the road. When I am not working, I enjoy playing my guitars (seven isn’t too many is it?), home improvement projects and spending time with my wife Deborah, and our two sons, Matthew and Anthony
Truck Brokerage Champion
Prior to joining ILS, Danny spent 18 years at CEVA Logistics, and prior to that 15 years working in the small package / courier business. Danny has one son who is attending Texas State University and for fun he enjoys playing golf, building small furniture, and going to UT football games. Danny has a B.A. from Concordia University.
Vendor Relationship Specialist
Ashlyn happily joined Truckload Brokerage team in April 2017 as a Vendor Relationship Specialist. With years of customer facing experience, she enjoys making others happy and solving the unsolvable. She graduated from Texas A&M University in December 2014 with a degree in Supply Chain Management. In her free time, Ashlyn enjoys reading, exploring Austin with her energetic toddler and husband, and spending time outside (crazy Texas weather permitting). She is excited to be a part of the Intelligent Logistics team, and is eager to continue learning and growing with the company.
Senior Operations Specialist
Micah joined Intelligent in February 2016 with an extensive background in domestic freight forwarding, specializing in white glove, FTL, and time definite service via air and ground. He was previously with Expeditors. He enjoys narrative fiction, history, creative writing, music, horticulture, football, baseball, 4×4’s, motorcycles, fast cars, and most especially time with his family and friends. His bourgeoning career in print journalism was quickly abandoned in favor of routing freight for a living, because, in his words, “it’s more better”. He also likes sarcasm and irony.
Prior to joining the ILS , Becky spent 7 years as the Accounting Manager for LSO, a regional parcel delivery company. Becky graduated from St. Edward’s University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Becky’s diverse experience includes accounting, human resources, and 14 years of payroll processing/management. When not working, Becky enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and hanging out with her awesome dog, Major.
Operations Manager, Truck Brokerage
Brady joined the ILS team in October of 2016. He brings experience from building an oilfield services company that specialized in onsite logistics and grew to include complimentary services. He has also spent time as a manufacturing process engineer and took time abroad (South Sudan) to participate in humanitarian pursuits. Brady has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Trinity University.
Brady enjoys spending time with his family (spouse and 2 daughters), enjoying the outdoors, and having fun competing in any sort of lawn game or sport. Brady also cheers on all of the professional DFW teams as well as all teams Longhorn. Past claims to fame… performed yo-yo tricks at the half time of high school basketball games, class clown of high school graduating class, 3-time intramural ping pong champion in college (challenge accepted Aaron).
Senior Operations Specialist
Ken joined ILS after spending 5 years with Expeditors where he worked his way through every facet of freight forwarding including Domestic Ops, Distribution Ops, Warehousing, and Air and Ocean Ops. Ken currently supports our INTL Export team and is utilizing his IATA/FIATA and Export Compliance Certifications to promote our goal of improving our compliance efforts. Ken is currently pursuing his B.A. in Psychology while working full time but spends as much time as possible with friends and family. He loves softball, baseball, cars, motorcycles, and books not considered required reading.
Jimmy graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BBA in Entrepreneurship. Prior to ILS, he worked for FedEx Freight before joining Intelligent Logistics in early 2016. He enjoys spending time with his wife Ashley, as well as watching movies, playing golf and bowling.
FTL Customer Service
Alyssa joined ILS in February of 2016. She graduated from Eastern Florida State College with an Associates Degree. She relocated to Austin to be closer to family. Prior to joining the team Alyssa was an administrative assistant at PODS, and she loves interacting with customers and providing solutions. A big fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and Florida Gators, she also enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and spending time on the beach.
Distribution Supervisor, Cartage
With a smile on my face I joined Intelligent logistics in 2015, after 10 + years with CEVA/EGL. I am very committed team player and enjoy helping others to ensure we all are successful. I have my B.A in Monkey business and M.A in Tomfoolery from the University of Shenanigans. I have yet to receive my Certificates but do have my outstanding loan letters.
Outside of work I spend the majority of the time with my boys fishing, boating, camping, or riding my motorcycle. Family is everything to me, and I love sports of all kinds. My words to live by: “You can catch flies with honey but you catch more honeys being fly”- Keegan Large
Key Account Manager
Prior to joining ILS, David worked in the chemical industry in North and South Carolina as a Distribution Manager and Technical Sales Rep. David returned to school and completed a degree in Supply Chain Operations Management at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee in 2015 before returning to Austin, his adopted home. He is proud of his Wisconsin ties but loves being able to enjoy the outdoors for more than 3 months a year here in Texas. He loves his Packers, Brewers, and Bucks but especially enjoys watching his tragic Liverpool Reds. He is an avid golfer, both real and Golden Tee, and secretly hopes one day to play on the Senior PGA tour.
Operations Supervisor, Cartage
I came to Intelligent Logistics with 10 years’ experience in the transportation industry. During that time I have had many roles but the most exciting role was to be the 1st female transportation supervisor at SYGMA San Antonio. I have 3 sons who love football so naturally I am a football fan at heart!
Business Intelligence Analyst
Aaron joins Intelligent Logistics in September 2016. He previously worked as a Math Teacher and Soccer Coach in San Antonio. Aaron began college at Schreiner University where he played soccer, before finishing his degree in Mathematics at UTSA.
Aaron will be offering fantasy football advice around the office to the highest bidders. He intends to set the standard for skills in fishing, ping pong, and darts.
Apprentice, Freight Forwarding Operations
Nik joined Intelligent Logistics in 2016. Originally from Houston, Nik is a graduate of Texas A&M University and received an undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management in early 2016. Nik is very much looking forward to learning and growing with Intelligent Logistics in his role as an Operations Apprentice. In addition to his passion for freight forwarding, Nik enjoys going to the movies, meeting new & exciting people, and getting way too competitive in friendly sports games (except for soccer). He also excels at pretending to be an expert in conversations where no one really knows what is happening.
Logan Moon joined Intelligent Logistics in 2016. He has been working in the logistics and service field for the last 8 years, with increasing levels of responsibility. A Texas native, Logan graduated from Madison High School and is currently attending Northeast Lakeview College. In his spare time, Logan enjoys camping, fishing, and spending time with family and fiancé Samantha.
Thomas Bocanegra is a proud father of two with another on the way. When not working, he loves to work out, play basketball and especially enjoys fishing.
Talor is from Nashville, Tennessee, and she graduated from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management and French. Talor joined our company as an apprentice and is excited to learn all the aspects of our business. She loves to travel and lived in Germany for a year after graduating from college. Talor has backpacked Europe, has been skydiving twice, and enjoys all types of music (except country-you will not find her at the local honky tonk.)
Erik Packheiser joined the Intelligent Logistics team in 2016 after a long and decorated career as a Libation Liaison. He is a man of mystery and power whose power is exceeded only by his mystery. He can speak Russian…in French, can kill two stones with one bird and at least 25 German folk songs have been written about his beard.
Bennett is a graduate from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with degrees in International Supply Chain Management and German. As a native Memphian, barbecue is one of his life’s passions. His favorite color is orange, he does not like “Game of Thrones”, and his favorite outdoor activity is playing with strangers’ dogs at parks. Bennett is excited about joining the Intelligent Logistics family and looks forward to his future here.
